A young Under 10 team with 2 hardball debutants, took to the field on Thursday evening against an experienced and well organised Dorridge team.
Despite some good bowling performances, with Isaac Rock, Sidney Davis (debut) and Monty Hill each picking up a wicket, Dorridge posted 285-3, having been on 202 after the first 2 overs. It always seemed as though the target was going to be an uphill battle for the young Earls team, and unfortunately that proved to be the case.
The scoreboard never got any momentum going, and losing 6 wickets along the way, Earlswood come up short of their target, on 229-6. Callum (12), Isaac (4) and Monty (2) all preserved their wickets.
A good experience for the boys and we can take some of the positives into our next game on Sunday in the Worcs league, away to Bromsgrove, which again will see a young side take the field on behalf of Earlswood with 2 further hardball debuts.
