Richard Jackson was skipper for the day of a youthful team featuring six juniors. Jacko won the toss and put the opposition in.
Shaun Jenkins and Noah Massey opened the bowling and both were soon amongst the wickets with three of the top four dismissed cheaply. Ghose Haider and Isaac Rock then joined the party and another three wickets between them reduced the home side to 56-6.
The Ashton skipper Jack Perks (63) was next to the crease and together with William Archer (41*) put on a decent partnership to at least give the home side something to defend as they finished on 162-7 from their 40 overs with a second wicket for Shaun.
U14 Callum Graham continued his great start to the season and followed his 70 not out for Warwickshire earlier in the week with an assured 76 not out batting through the innings. Josh Massey (27), Usman Yasin (24) and a couple of sixes from Bobby Banerjee towards the close saw Earls comfortably home with 3 wickets down and 5 overs to spare.
