A balmy, overcast afternoon in the Warwickshire countryside provided the perfect setting for ECC 4s against Norton Lindsey 3s. Losing the toss, 4s were put in the field with all our bowlers going about their business in an assured and workmanlike manner. Despite some top-order contributions, Norton Lindsey were unable to breach 150 after their allotted overs. Carys R finally managed to snare their troublesome No3 with some deft seam bowling. Ben Coward took 3 wickets (on debut) and Laura S presented puzzles with turn and bounce, capturing two of the middle-order.

After Jacob R and Sam W enjoyed their bowling role-reversal, both opening batsmen set about the chase with a mature and disciplined fifty first-wicket partnership (albeit in just six overs). This set the foundations for a straightforward finish thereafter. Saihej Mangat hit a superb 59 (not out) with able support from Haris Sohail to close out at the end.

Overall, a very satisfying and assured performance by all players.
