Congratulations to our Anthony Collins Solicitors players of the match from the weekend’s senior games.

28th May

Johangir Khan continued his excellent form securing back to back player of the match awards with his excellent 60 against RMCC on an incredibly difficult batting wicket. J’s innings got the WCL 1s up to a total they could at least bowl at, and was full of quality free-flowing shots all around the wicket.

The WCL 2s were propelled to a winning draw by Sohaym Maddekar’s 80. Sohaym opened the batting and top scored in the match, putting all his hard work over the Winter into practice. Sohaym looked in fantastic form and will get the opportunity to showcase his skills in the WCL 1s this week, which is a step we are sure he will take in his stride.

Harry Empson’s brilliant start to the season continued with his maiden senior hundred to help the WCL3s remain unbeaten. Harry scored an amazing 101 off 111 balls, opening the batting with fellow youngster Callum Graham in an opening stand of 155. Harry’s hard work has definitely paid off so far with his multiple excellent innings in senior cricket.

There were multiple valuable contributions in the CHL 1’s 139 run victory over Great Alne, however the most valuable came through Louie Green’s 5-18 with the ball. Louie rapidly removed Great Alne’s middle order and tail enders, finishing the job for the team and ensuring the win was comprehensive. Great work Louie!

The CHL 2’s lost their friendly at Alcester and Ragley by 77 runs but the game provided a great opportunity for players to get some cricket. Having recently returned to playing for Earlswood, Will Bicknell scored an excellent 50 batting at 3 in just his second game back. It is great to have Will back around the place and even more so great to see him scoring runs.

29th May

Rishaan Singh shone for the Sunday 1st XI taking 5-46 as they won a thriller against Standard CC by 3 runs. Rishaan took key wickets in the back end of the innings as Standard fell just short of their target. Fantastic work Rishaan!
