After being called up to the WCL first XI this week, Sardara Narotra got the team off to a fantastic start with a quick fire 53 in a 97 run opening partnership. Chief looked like the player of old, rediscovering the form of late last season with some glorious shots through (and over) the offside to help the side to a 103-run victory over Studley.

Dan Empson made his last game before school cricket takes over count as he took 2-34 to help the WCL second team overcome a stern test from Blossomfield 2s. Dan bowled excellently in his first spell to no avail, with many edges falling safe, before returning to take 2 key wickets to help Earlswood bowl Bloss out for a narrow 5 run victory.

Doubling the Empson presence in this week’s player of the match awards is younger brother Harry who excelled for the CHL 1s in their friendly vs Dunchurch and Bilton. Harry took a brilliant 3-6 off his 7 overs, including the key wicket of Bek to ensure that Earlswood bowled out Dunchurch for 103, setting up a 9 wicket victory.
