The ECB has announced it will release a scoring app ready for the new season.
The app will have full integration with Play-Cricket enabling automatic upload of score sheets. This will significantly reduce the time and hassle-factor for team managers and Captains, particularly those that have to record all matches on the Play-Cricket site.
It has been built for recreational cricket and will provide all the detail of a traditional scoresheet, making it easy for new scorers and powerful enough for regular scorers. It will be free to download on mobile and tablet devices.
It's designed to cope with the large variety of scoring combinations and league bonus points, as well as managing rain affected games. Users can auto upload game data to Play-Cricket.com while live scoring and it produces run rates, Manhattans, scoring worms and wagon wheels. Clubs will be able to live score to broadcast a team's performance on social media and Play-Cricket.com.
Fixtures can be exported from Play-Cricket and the teams then loaded into the app using registered players.
All formats of recreational cricket are catered for from Pairs cricket to Premier League, and can all be uploaded to Play-Cricket.com. Secure logins through Play-Cricket can restrict who can alter scores. Devices can be switched at any time should the one being used run out of charge. Users can then resume scoring the game
on a different device.
The "Play-Cricket Live" app will allow easy access to live scores and player statistics.
Ready for download on iOS or Android nearer to the start of the season.
